The world-premiere of this boldly re-imagined version of the timeless Russian masterpiece takes audiences on an unforgettable journey through space and time using light, shadows, music, dance and bunraku-style puppetry to tell the epic tale of Prince Ivan, the wizard Koschei and the magical Firebird in a sturggle between good and evil. The Little Orchestra Society has commissioned award-winning designer and spectacle-maker Chris M. Green and internationally acclaimed choreographer David Neumann to help create this not-to-be-missed production that brings together eleven puppeteers with stunning imagery and the incomparable excitement of a live orchestra.

This grand-scale production of Prokofiev’s masterpiece marks the triumphant return of The Little Orchestra Society’s original version of the classic ‘boy meets wolf’ tale. Colorfully-costumed actors and dancers join Maestro Anagnost and the Orchestra as the villagers of Petrograd celebrate the annual Festival of Peter’s Day by reenacting the story of Peter and the Wolf. Directed by Annette Jolles, this version includes additional repertoire by other great Russian composers, including Stravinsky, Shostakovich and Kabalevsky.
